In walkable downtown Seattle, the Seattle Marriott Waterfront is steps from shopping, dining, arts and entertainment. Quintessentially Seattle, Pike Place Market is the ideal starting point. Grab a cup of java at the original Starbucks and watch the fish throwers at Pike Place Fish Company before heading to the Seattle Center to experience a breathtaking view of the "Emerald City" from atop the Space Needle. The renowned Seattle Museum of Art and countless theaters and museums keep the local art scene vibrant and fresh. Visit historic Pioneer Square, site of the original downtown Seattle and now home to several art galleries and exciting night life. North of the city, the Fremont neighborhood is known for its public art, including the famous Fremont Troll. The Seattle theater scene is a well-oiled machine fueled by a commitment to community-building. It's a home where performers are inspired to work together, pursue their passions, and try new things. More so than in larger metropolitan cities, theater companies dedicate themselves to enabling Seattle-based artists to choose their own adventure. Seattle RepIntiman Theatre, and 5th Avenue Theatre, are good starting points. Benaroya Hall is the home of the Seattle Symphony. It features two auditoria, the S. Mark Taper Foundation Auditorium, a 2500-seat performance venue, as well as the Illsley Ball Nordstrom Recital Hall, which seats 536. It is a short walk from our conference hotel.
